The
Pomegranate Words Poetry Project is a simple experiment where
instead of the traditional literary magazine format, we will be
publishing short, single poems. Think of a broadside, only smaller.
It was inspired by the newspaper vendors that you'll see at hubs of
public transportation in any large city. What if, instead of only
newspapers, you could also for spare change purchase a poem to read
on your train or bus ride? Would people read poetry if it was more
accessible in this way: easily available, cheap, and on one
non-intimidating page? We decided to start the Project in order to
find out. Each poem will be printed on a 4 by 11 inch piece of paper
and rolled up in an intriguing little scroll. We're hoping to have
them carried by independent bookstores and other "poetry-friendly"
venues, and we're looking into street vending and markets.
We are
currently not accepting submissions.
